My Story

I am a wife, a mom of two beautiful babies, a registered nurse, and a childbirth doula. My love of birth began when I was little. I always wanted to be a labor and delivery nurse. After graduating high school, I started to pursue that dream. After working in the hospital for a couple of years, I started doing my own research into birth, and more specifically physiological birth. This led me to have my own home birth with my second child.

The experience was truly life-changing. It was intense, beautiful, hard, magical, empowering, and transformative. I gained confidence in myself as a person and as a mother through this experience. After that experience, I could not deny the pull that I felt to become a doula and help women have the amazing birth experience that they deserve.

Love, Alex

what is a doula?

what is a doula?

“A doula is a non-medical, though essential, part of the birth team who offers emotional, physical, information, and spiritual support to families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.”
- Melissa Chappell

As a Doula…

I help you prepare and feel physically and mentally ready to birth your baby.

I empower you to choose what feels innately right for you and your baby.

I advocate for you and support you in your decisions.

I hold space for big emotions through labor and hold you through those.

I hold the mom, not the baby.
